The Illinois State Fair is set to host rock bands Alter Bridge and Mammoth WVH on August 16 at the Illinois Lottery Grandstand stage. Alter Bridge, known for their recent album "Pawns & Kings," will headline the event. The band includes Creed members Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall, and Scott Phillips, with Myles Kennedy as the frontman. Their music has gained recognition with singles like "Silver Tongue" and "Holiday," and accolades from Loudwire.
Mammoth WVH, led by Wolfgang Van Halen, will perform before Alter Bridge. His debut album features chart-topping singles "Distance" and "Don't Back Down." The track "Distance," a tribute to his father Eddie Van Halen, earned Wolfgang a GRAMMY® nomination in 2021.
Rebecca Clark, Illinois State Fair Manager, expressed enthusiasm about the lineup: "We are excited to welcome not one but two great rock acts to the Illinois Lottery Grandstand Stage on August 16."
Tickets for these performances will be available soon. Pricing for the August 16 show ranges from $25 to $90 depending on seating tier.
The fair runs from August 10 through 20 in Springfield. Updates can be followed via social media platforms.
