Illinois Department of Revenue launches retailer resource page for sales tax information

The Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR) has launched a new Retailer Resource page designed to assist retailers and taxpayers with information regarding Illinois sales and use tax. This resource includes details on the temporary reductions in tax on retail sales of grocery items, which were effective from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023. Additionally, it covers structural changes to Illinois’s sales and use tax laws as part of the Leveling the Playing Field for Illinois Retail Act.
