The Illinois Liquor Control Commission (ILCC) will participate in the 2023 Illinois State Fair, featuring a table in the Lieutenant Governor's tent. ILCC Executive Director Lisa Gardner expressed enthusiasm about this opportunity, stating, "The Illinois State Fair is a staple of Illinois' summer festivities, and a showcase of the best Illinois has to offer." She added that the commission looks forward to engaging with attendees by providing educational resources on alcohol safety and awareness.
Throughout the fair, visitors can find educational materials and giveaways at the ILCC table. Activities include a Kids Day Coloring Contest on Saturday, August 12, and an Impaired Driving Vehicle Course from Tuesday to Saturday, August 15-19. This course allows participants to experience impaired driving risks using impairment goggles while navigating a pedal kart through an enclosed track.
Additionally, there is an ongoing "We Card Hard" Contest where participants can submit slogans or catchphrases to replace the current one. Winners will receive prizes and have their phrases used in a statewide underage drinking campaign. A prize wheel will also be available daily for visitors to spin for various prizes.

The mission of the Illinois Liquor Control Commission is to protect public health, safety, and welfare by regulating alcoholic liquor manufacture, distribution, and sale. The commission also aims to reduce youth access to alcohol products through education on responsible beverage service.
