Illinois State Fair announces final act for grandstand lineup

The Illinois State Fair has finalized its 2023 grandstand lineup with the addition of Chevelle, set to perform on Friday, August 18. This announcement was made today in Springfield, Illinois. The band, which hails from Illinois, brings a history of over two decades in the music industry, featuring numerous top-charting releases and global tours.

Chevelle has received Multi-Platinum, Platinum, and Gold certifications for eight studio albums and boasts seven number one hits. They have also had 17 songs reach the Top 10 on the Rock charts. Their album sales exceed five million in the United States alone. Notable works include the 2002 Multi-Platinum album "Wonder What's Next" and the 2004 Platinum follow-up "This Type of Thinking Could Do Us In," which debuted at number eight on the Billboard Top 200 chart.

In 2018, Chevelle released a collection titled "12 Bloody Spies," consisting of B-sides and rarities while working on their new album "NIRATIAS."

"We are excited to add Chevelle to an already diverse lineup," said Illinois State Fair Manager Rebecca Clark. "From country to rock, to pop and hip hop, we feel we have built a grandstand lineup for every musical taste. We can't wait to welcome fairgoers to the 2023 Illinois State Fair next month."

Tickets for Chevelle's performance will be available starting Wednesday, July 19 at 10 a.m., both at the Illinois State Fair Box Office and via Ticketmaster. Tickets for other announced shows are currently on sale.

The fair will run from August 10-20 in Springfield and features a variety of performances:

- Old Dominion with Alexandra Kay (August 11)

- An Evening with The Doobie Brothers (August 12)

- Alanis Morissette with Tenille Townes (August 13)

- REO Speedwagon with Edwin McCain (August 15)

- Alter Bridge with Mammoth WVH (August 16)

- Tim McGraw with Landon Parker (August 17)

- Maren Morris (August 19)

- Nelly with Ashanti & Ja Rule (August 20)

A $30 Pre-Show Party ticket is available as an upgrade for all paid concerts.
