The Illinois State Fair Ag Day Breakfast, initially planned for Friday morning, has been canceled due to predicted severe weather conditions. The National Weather Service forecasts storms with strong winds during that time.

Jerry Costello, Director of the Illinois Department of Agriculture, emphasized the importance of safety for fairgoers. "The Ag Day Breakfast was scheduled to be held outside on the Director's Lawn and our top priority is the safety of our fairgoers," he stated.

Despite the cancellation, farm families will still be honored. Centennial, Sesquicentennial, and Bi-Centennial farm families are invited to gather at the John R. Block Building on Friday morning at 9 a.m. for traditional photos.

Other attendees are encouraged to visit the Ag Tent on Sunday, August 13, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., where a complimentary breakfast will be available.
