The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) has announced the launch of its new online licensing system, the Comprehensive Online Regulatory Environment (CORE). This system is designed for the first set of IDFPR-licensed professionals and aims to eliminate paper applications. It provides applicants with more control over their materials and helps prevent deficient applications from being submitted. CORE also introduces a simplified review process for all license applications received by IDFPR.

Mario Treto, Jr., Secretary of IDFPR, stated, “Everyone wanting to earn a living in Illinois in the 21st century should have tools of the times available so they can be licensed and get to work as soon as possible.” He added that CORE is part of their commitment to streamlining processes and improving services for the benefit of Illinois residents. The transition to this new system is expected to be completed over the next two years.
