Def Leppard to perform at Illinois State Fair on August 16

Rock band Def Leppard is set to perform at the Illinois State Fair on August 16. The band, known for their energetic live shows and iconic hits, will play a selection of their most famous songs including "Pour Some Sugar on Me," "Photograph," and "Love Bites."

Jerry Costello II, Director of the Illinois Department of Agriculture, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming performance: "Our team has worked hard to elevate the quality of musical acts at the Grandstand during the Illinois State Fair," he said. He added that Def Leppard's music holds significant personal memories for him.

Def Leppard has sold over 110 million albums worldwide and earned two U.S. Diamond Awards. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame® in 2019. The band consists of Joe Elliott (vocals), Phil Collen (guitar), Rick Savage (bass), Vivian Campbell (guitar), and Rick Allen (drums). Known for albums like "Pyromania" and "Hysteria," they continue to captivate audiences with their performances.

Since making their catalog available on streaming platforms in 2018, Def Leppard has amassed 5.5 billion streams globally. Their album "Diamond Star Halos" debuted in Billboard's Top 10, while another release, "Drastic Symphonies," reached #4 in the UK charts.

Rebecca Clark, Illinois State Fair Manager, highlighted the band's widespread appeal: "Def Leppard's catalog of hits is iconic. Songs like 'Pour Some Sugar on Me,' 'Foolin'' and 'Rock of Ages' immediately have you singing along."

Tickets for Def Leppard's performance will be available from November 16 through Ticketmaster. Special holiday pricing is offered until December 31, after which some prices will increase.

The Illinois State Fair will take place from August 7 through August 17 in Springfield.
