Donald Gillen, 93, a retired Chicago firefighter, passed away. He was the beloved husband of the late Marian Gillen, cherished father of the 6 "Gillen Boys", and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. Donald was known as a friend to many of all ages.

He will always be remembered as "Pops" to his loved ones and recognized as the toughest man they've ever known. Donald instilled values of adventure, nature, friendship, hard work, and family love in those around him.

Visitation will be held on Monday starting at 9:00 a.m., with the service at 11:00 a.m. at Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Memories and condolences can be shared on Donald's Tribute Wall on the Sheehy Funeral Home website. To honor Donald, flowers can be sent to the family or a tree can be planted in his memory through the floral store.
