Gregory A. Zolecki | Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.c. - Lemont

Lemont, IL - Gregory A. Zolecki, a devoted husband, father, and longtime resident of Lemont, passed away on January 19, 2025. He was 66 years old. Known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his family, Gregory's legacy lives on through his loved ones and his professional pursuits.

Gregory, a proud graduate of St. Alphonsus grade school, dedicated 18 years of service at Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. Following his retirement, he embarked on a new journey as the owner of Zolecki Landscaping. Additionally, he was a valued member of the Sears family, where he served as a manager in the Lawn and Garden department.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Linda Zolecki, and their two children, Josh Zolecki and Krystle (Allan) Hevey. Gregory is also survived by his siblings, Barb (Joe) Bannon and Dan (Bonnie) Zolecki, as well as his nieces and nephews, including Matt (Carolyn) Zolecki, Valerie (Victor) Rodarte, and Meghan Bannon.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. located at 108 Illinois St. in Lemont. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Alphonsus Church for a Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.

Gregory's hard work, kind spirit, and dedication to both his family and his profession have left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him.
