Barbara is survived by her loving children: Elizabeth (Joseph) Duffy, Daniel (Bonnie) Goedert, William Goedert, Paula (David) Szakacs, Patricia (George) Rogers, Jacqueline Konaszewski, Katherine (Angelo) Rotondi, and Monica (Christopher) Sheerin. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Barbara was a retired nurse from South Suburban Hospital and remained active in dispensing medical advice. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, hosting holiday meals, and teaching her grandchildren card games. Barbara had a wonderful gift for conversation and could easily connect with others through stories and shared experiences.
An avid gardener, Barbara eagerly awaited Spring to tend to her garden beds, passing her love for gardening to her children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27, from 8:00 am to 10:30 am at RICHARD J MODELL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, followed by a Chapel Service and Mass at St. Bernard Church. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to St. Joseph’s Indian School in Chamberlain, SD.
