William R. Kostecki | O'Neil Funeral Home And Heritage Crematory - Lockport

Lockport - William R. Kostecki, 77, a US Air Force Veteran, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully while surrounded by his loving family. William, known fondly as Bill, took great joy in spending time with his four daughters and watching his nine grandchildren excel in their activities and sports. He was an avid storyteller, often recounting tales from his childhood, especially memories of going to Comiskey Park to support his beloved White Sox. Bill had a passion for food, cooking, fishing, and golfing, and he never missed a chance to visit the casino with his wife. His vibrant personality illuminated any room he walked into, effortlessly connecting with people through conversation. Above all, his family was his greatest love, and he will be profoundly missed.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Nancy Kostecki, and his parents, Raymond and Charlotte Kostecki. He is survived by his daughters Kristen Timm, Katie Taraska, Kim Burd, and Kandace Caswick, as well as grandchildren Michael Timm, Lyla, Mila, and Sam Taraska, Lexie, Mason, and Preslie Burd, Harper, and Clayton Caswick. Bill's strength, courage, and determination in the face of challenges served as an inspiration to his family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, at O'NEIL FUNERAL HOME from 3:30 p.m. until the time of the Chapel Service at 6:30 p.m. For more information, please contact (815) 838-5010 or visit www.oneilfuneralhome.com.
