He was the beloved husband of Marybeth (nee Lynch) and the devoted father of Kelsey Farrell. John was also a caring step-father to Tom Norbut. He was the son of the late John and Catherine Farrell and a cherished brother of Michael (Sue), James (Roseanne) Farrell, Mary Ann (Jack) Ullrich, Maureen (Bob) Moore, Kate (Pat) Walsh, and Colleen Farrell. John was a loving uncle to Kimberly, Melissa, Jason, the late James, Mike, Brian, and Chris, as well as a kind great-uncle to Tegan and Parker. John was a proud graduate of St. Sabina/St. Bede grade schools, St. Laurence high school, and Chicago State University.
Known for his love of golfing, gardening, and Chicago sports teams (except the Cubs!), John was a great friend and golf partner to many.
A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home in Orland Park, IL. Family and friends are invited to a Mass on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Stephen Deacon & Martyr Church in Tinley Park, IL.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Mulliganeers would be appreciated by the family.
