Robert "Bob" Malkas | Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home

Lansing, IL - Robert R. Malkas, 82, of Lansing, Illinois, passed away at home on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. He was the son of Joseph and Lillian Malkas and brother of Darlene Kadar. Bob, a retired teacher and assistant principal at Mother of Sorrows High School, also managed the Lansing Municipal Airport. Active in local politics, he wrote articles for The Lansing Journal and editorials for The Times. Bob authored two books and had a passion for horse racing. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home in Lansing, with funeral services on March 6 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Dyer, Indiana. Bob will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. He will be deeply missed.
