Jan Wacław Passes Away at 65 After Battle with Glioblastoma

Jan Wacław, aged 65, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20th, after a long battle with Glioblastoma.

He was the devoted husband of Aniela Wacław for 37 years and the proud father of Andrzej (Brittany) Wacław. He was a beloved "dziadek" to Adalaide (3), Kennedi (2), and Elliotte (4 months) Wacław.

Jan was the son of the late Andrzej Wacław and is survived by his mother, Maria Wacław. He was the son-in-law of Jan (late Helena) Ciężobka. Jan was the loving brother of the late Zofia Wacław, Marta (late Andrzej) Kowalczyk, and Anna (Franciszek) Groń. He was also the beloved brother-in-law of Maria (Tadeusz) Rusin, Katarzyna (Ireneusz) Dymek, Stanisław (Anna) Ciężobka, and Władysław (Bożena) Ciężobka.

Born in Czarna Góra, Poland, Jan moved his family to Burbank in 1996. He worked diligently up until his diagnosis and was known for his strong work ethic. Jan frequently traveled back to Poland with his family to visit his parents, in-laws, and extended family.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Avenue, Justice, Illinois.

Morning visitation will take place on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, followed by prayers and a procession to Our Lady Mother of the Church Polish Mission, 116 Hilton Street, Willow Springs, Illinois, for a 10:00 AM Mass.

Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, Illinois.
