Known for her love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God, Ruth touched the lives of all she met by making personal connections and remembering names and details. She will be remembered for her love of the outdoors, sunshine, spending time with friends and family, and walking along favorite beaches.
Ruth had a wide network of friends belonging to social clubs across the country, including the Anna Maria Island Moose Club, the Bedford Park Women's Club, and the Local 710 Pioneers Club.
She is survived by her sons Ted Willingham and Christopher Firkins; grandchildren Carrie Willingham (Stephen Simms), Shannon Spingola (Michael), Elijah Willingham, Noah Firkins (Kassidy), and Reilly Firkins; and great-grandson Cameron Firkins.
According to her wishes, there will be no services held before her interment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Billy Graham Ministries or the Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium in Sarasota, Florida.
