JoAnne M. Schranz, 78, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025 of natural causes in Bridgeview, Illinois. Born on July 15, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, JoAnne was known for her loving relationships, intellectual pursuits, and dedication to her community.

JoAnne's life was marked by her service at Sears Chicago Ridge and Home Depot Chicago Ridge, where she was respected for her thoughtful work ethic. She was deeply involved in the G.O.L.D "The Greater Oaklawn Diggers" Gem and Mineral Society and played a key role in the Midwest Soarring Foundation startup. As an Associate Member of Indian Creek Ranch, she enjoyed camping for many years.

She is survived by her best friend and companion, George Johnson, her sister Joseph Bockwell, her sons Leonard Phillips and Joseph "Tommy" Phillips, and her daughter Suzanne E. Schranz (Doug). JoAnne was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, and a loving aunt. Her legacy of love and compassion will be remembered by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium in Justice, Illinois. Cremation rites will be accorded in her honor.
