Aptakisic-Tripp Community Consolidated School District has announced that Aptakisic Junior High and Meridian School have been recognized as Apple Distinguished Schools for the period 2024-2027. This recognition highlights their innovative use of iPads and digital learning techniques. The announcement was made on the district's website on October 11, 2024.
Apple Distinguished Schools are acknowledged for their leadership in technology-driven education, aligning with Apple's vision for innovation in learning. Currently, there are over 1,000 Apple Distinguished Schools across more than 39 countries. To achieve this status, a school must have an established one-to-one program, demonstrate innovative use of the Apple platform, show leadership and faculty proficiency with iPads or Macs, and maintain a continuous innovation leadership team.
In a statement acknowledging the recognition, the Aptakisic-Tripp School District said: "Our commitment to integrating technology into the classroom has empowered our students and teachers to achieve extraordinary outcomes." The district further expressed pride in being part of a global community of schools using Apple technology to inspire creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. "Thank you to our dedicated staff, students, and community for making this achievement possible," they added.
The Aptakisic-Tripp Community Consolidated School District 102 serves Lake County and includes Aptakisic Junior High School, Earl Pritchett School, Meridian School, and Tripp School.
