ISBE announces agenda for March business meeting in Plainfield

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) has outlined the agenda for its upcoming regular business meeting scheduled for March 12 in Plainfield. The session will begin at 10:30 a.m. and interested individuals can participate by signing up online or in person at 15732 S Howard St., Plainfield.

Public participation is encouraged, with options to speak either in person or via phone. For those choosing the latter, the dial-in number is 571-317-3112 with access code 919-127-637. The form for public participation will be available from 9 a.m. until the meeting starts.

The meeting will be accessible online through an audiocast on ISBE's website. Participants are advised to click the "Listen in" link on the homepage under Top-Accessed Services at the start of the meeting.

The board emphasizes accessibility for persons with disabilities and offers language translation services upon request. Those needing special accommodations should contact ISBE's Language Access Coordinator Diana Torres at dtorres@isbe.net or call (312) 814-5818. Additionally, ISBE can be contacted via TTY/TDD at (217) 782-1900.

The chairperson may initiate a closed session if necessary during the meeting. Agenda items include roll call, swearing-in of board members, presentations by Plainfield School District 202, and discussions on various administrative matters such as employee appointments and property leases.

There will also be a semiannual review of closed session minutes, leadership luncheon, superintendent's report, and other routine approvals including minutes from previous meetings and contracts exceeding $1 million.

Announcements from senior staff and board members will follow before adjournment.
