FOIA Request to Village of Hinsdale Regarding Records Related to Andrea Flynn on March 12, 2025.
As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, Prairie State Wire has submitted a formal request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) for records held by the Village of Hinsdale or the Hinsdale Police Department. The request pertains specifically to Hinsdale resident Andrea Flynn and the address 637 S. Adams St, Hinsdale, IL 60521.
We are seeking any and all records related to Andrea Flynn or the specified address that are held by these entities. This includes, but is not limited to, incident reports, arrest reports, accident reports, witness statement reports, and civil dispute reports. Our preference is to receive these records in electronic format if possible.
In accordance with FOIA guidelines, we have requested that if any records are exempt from disclosure, a detailed explanation for the exemption be provided along with any non-exempt portions of the requested records.
As members of the media involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
Additionally, it should be noted that this request is supported by The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Missouri Corporation dedicated to assisting news media companies and public advocacy groups in investigating state and federal governmental agencies through Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws.
