Legendary rock band The Black Crowes are set to perform at the Illinois Lottery Grandstand Stage on Saturday, August 9, as part of the Illinois State Fair's lineup. Known for their blend of blues-infused riffs and unapologetic energy, the band has sold over 30 million albums worldwide since their debut in 1990 and has secured a lasting legacy in rock music. The release of their latest album, "Happiness Bastards," has been celebrated as a testament to the enduring power of their music.
"The Black Crowes represent the kind of powerhouse talent that makes the Illinois State Fair's Grandstand lineup stand out year after year," remarked Illinois Department of Agriculture Director Jerry Costello II. Since their reunion in 2019, the band has performed more than 150 shows across 20 countries, showcasing their persistent mix of gritty blues-rock.
The group is celebrated for hits such as "She Talks to Angels," "Remedy," and "Hard to Handle." They recently joined forces with Jimmy Page to re-release "Live At The Greek," commemorating the album's 25th anniversary.
"The Illinois State Fair is all about bringing people together for great entertainment, and The Black Crowes are the perfect addition to our lineup," stated Illinois State Fair Manager Rebecca Clark. "Their music has resonated with fans across generations, and we're excited to bring their legendary sound to this year's Fair."
Tickets for the concert will be available for purchase starting Saturday, April 5, at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster, with prices ranging from $70 to $135, and a $30 pre-show party ticket available for upgrade.
