In Springfield, the Small Business Legislative Day, a collaborative event hosted by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), and the Technology and Manufacturing Association (TMA), brought together small business owners, legislators, and state agency officials. The gathering aimed to provide firsthand insights into issues affecting small businesses in Illinois.

Participants had the chance to engage in multiple activities, including association updates, two focused panels, and a legislative reception. The first panel included representatives from key state departments: the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, the Illinois Department of Revenue, the Illinois Department of Employment Security, the Illinois Department of Labor, and the Illinois Department of Transportation. The second panel featured Illinois legislators Representative C.D. Davidsmeyer, Senator Craig Wilcox, and Senator Jason Plummer.

At the reception, attendees could meet with legislators and discuss their stories, providing a platform for exchange between policymakers and the small business community.
