Pam Bondi, the U.S. Attorney General, said that Republicans have been repeatedly blocked from obtaining Jeffrey Epstein's flight logs and questioned Senator Dick Durbin's motives.

"Senator Durbin, I find it very interesting that you refused repeated Republican requests to release the Epstein flight logs in 2023 and 2024," said Bondi. "Did you take money from Reid Hoffman campaign donations, who was a huge Epstein friend? Why did you fight for years? Why did you fight to not disclose the flight logs, Senator Durbin?"

According to Senate Judiciary Committee Republicans, they have consistently sought full, unredacted flight logs of Jeffrey Epstein. In November 2023, Chair Dick Durbin blocked Senator Marsha Blackburn’s request to issue subpoenas for these records. GOP members argue that transparency is crucial for victims and accountability. The dispute has persisted into 2024 as Republicans continue to press for committee action and a vote to obtain the records from Epstein’s estate and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Congressional investigators have continued their efforts to secure documentary evidence related to Epstein. In September 2025, the House Committee on Oversight announced it had received and released 33,295 pages of Department of Justice materials in response to a subpoena. These documents are being produced with ongoing redactions aimed at protecting victims and removing any prohibited content. This extensive collection highlights the scale of records involved and underscores the push for public transparency.

Reid Hoffman, a Democratic donor, has invested significantly in party causes, becoming a major financial force in 2024 battleground efforts. Public reports indicate that Hoffman contributed nearly $8 million to the Democratic Party of Wisconsin during the 2024 cycle, showcasing his impactful giving strategy. These contributions frame Bondi’s inquiry into whether money linked to Hoffman influenced decisions regarding transparency on Epstein records.

Bondi is a Republican attorney who has served as U.S. Attorney General since 2025 after two terms as Florida’s first female attorney general from 2011 to 2019. Known for her focus on law-and-order issues, Bondi has emphasized victims’ rights and high-profile accountability.
