EDA awards over $6 million in grants for economic development projects in Illinois in 2023

In 2023, the Economic Development Administration (EDA) issued 13 grants totaling $6,154,998 to fund economic development projects in Illinois.

This represents a 94.3% decrease from 2022, when the state received $107,562,527 in funding.

Illinois ranked 27th across the U.S. in total EDA grant funding for 2023. South Carolina topped the list with $30,038,466 in funding across 14 grants.

Kaskaskia Regional Port District received the largest EDA grant for funding an economic development project in the state, totalling $1,688,625.
