Mary Catherine "Cathy" Lucy (nee Ryan) passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion. Born on May 31, 1934, to Cornelius and Mary Josephine Ryan, Irish immigrants, Cathy attended St. Leo Grammar School, Mercy High School, and Fox Business College.

Cathy worked as a secretary for the railroads and later as a clerk for Juvenile Court in Cook County. For over 70 years, she was a devoted member of Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Evergreen Park, actively participating in various church activities.

Known for her quick wit, love for family and community, and legendary Irish soda bread, Cathy formed lasting friendships wherever she went. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard for over 50 years and a devoted sister to Cornelius, Gerald, Patricia, and Loretta. Cathy was the proud mother of Mary Catherine, Bridget, and Patrick, and a cherished grandmother to Norah, Maeve, Kevin, Patrick, Ryan, and Marie.

Cathy's warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 3-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home in Orland Park, IL, leading to Most Holy Redeemer Church for Mass at 10:30 a.m. A live stream link will be available prior to the Mass.
