The Illinois State Fair will feature The Chainsmokers, a GRAMMY Award-winning, RIAA Diamond-certified duo, in a performance at the Illinois Lottery Grandstand stage on Friday, August 15.
Drew Taggart and Alex Pall, the musicians behind The Chainsmokers, are recognized for their fusion of pop, indie, electronic, alternative, and rock music. Their performance is expected to include some of their well-known hits, such as "Closer," "Something Just Like This," and the GRAMMY-winning "Don't Let Me Down."
"Bringing world-class talent like The Chainsmokers to the Illinois State Fair emphasizes our commitment to providing top-tier entertainment for fairgoers," stated Jerry Costello II, Director of the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
The Chainsmokers began gaining attention in 2013 with viral hit songs and Billboard chart-topping albums. Their debut album "Memories...Do Not Open" appeared at #1 on the Billboard 200. Subsequent albums like "Sick Boy," "World War Joy," and "So Far So Good" in 2022 further solidified their position on the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums Chart. Their latest album, "No Hard Feelings," was released in 2024, receiving considerable success and acclaim. In 2025, The Chainsmokers have focused on producing remixes available through SoundCloud.
"We are always looking to bring the best entertainment to Springfield, and The Chainsmokers are one of the biggest names in music today," said Illinois State Fair Manager Rebecca Clark. "Their ability to blend genres and engage audiences of all ages makes them the perfect addition to our Grandstand lineup."
