The Illinois State Fair is set to host The Chainsmokers, a GRAMMY Award-winning duo, on August 15. The performance will occur on the Illinois Lottery Grandstand stage, bringing their unique blend of pop, indie, electronic, alternative, and rock music to Springfield.
Illinois Department of Agriculture Director Jerry Costello II expressed enthusiasm about the booking: "Bringing world-class talent like The Chainsmokers to the Illinois State Fair emphasizes our commitment to providing top-tier entertainment for fairgoers."
The Chainsmokers, consisting of Drew Taggart and Alex Pall, have been influential in the music scene since their 2013 breakthrough. Known for chart-topping albums and viral hits, their first album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, with subsequent releases also performing well. In 2024, they continued their success with new music, and in 2025, they will release genre-fusing remixes available on SoundCloud.
Rebecca Clark, Illinois State Fair Manager, commented on the event: "We are always looking to bring the best entertainment to Springfield, and The Chainsmokers are one of the biggest names in music today. Their ability to blend genres and engage audiences of all ages makes them the perfect addition to our Grandstand lineup."
Ticket sales for the performance will commence on Saturday, April 12 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster, with prices ranging from $85 to $150. Additionally, a $30 Pre-Show Party ticket is available as an upgrade.
The Illinois State Fair is scheduled from August 7 to August 17 in Springfield, and updates can be followed on the fair's social media channels.
