Sally Ann Mahaffay McGovern | Lack & Sons Funeral Home

Sally Ann Mahaffay McGovern, 70, passed away on March 29, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Born on February 27, 1955, in Blue Island, Illinois, to the late Walter E. and Louise Abs Mahaffay.

Sally was a graduate of Harold L. Richards High School in 1973. Throughout her career, she worked in various roles including as a factory worker, school bus driver, and produce manager at Save-A-Lot Grocery Store.

A devoted member of Wartrace Baptist Church, Sally actively participated in church activities and held a deep commitment to her faith.

Survived by her daughter, Jodi Lynn Stack, and grandchildren Aaron, Jacen, Juno, and adopted grandson Michael Angelo Rivera. Also survived by siblings Vicki Lou Walsh, Terry Lee Mahaffay, Lesie Jo Boudreaux, and Lynne Saccameno, along with nieces, nephews, and her beloved pets Chief, Sadie, and Twinky. Memorial visitation on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 9 a.m. until family reflections at 11 a.m. at Lack and Sons Funeral Home, 9236 South Roberts Road, Hickory Hills. Inurnment at Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Wartrace Baptist Church or Bedford Cancer Foundation in Sally's memory.
