Peotone - Dorothy Mae Heinrich, 94, died on March 17, 2025, with daughter, Joan at her side at Bourbonnais Grove after visits from all her children a few days prior. Born on November 4, 1930, in Elk Grove Township to Alfred and Inger (Jorgensen) Cosman, Dorothy lived in Illinois most of her childhood and youth, except for six years in Seattle, Washington. She married Reinhold Heinrich on January 29, 1949, in Itasca, Illinois, and the couple lived in various towns west and south of Chicago, settling in Peotone. Reinhold, her husband of nearly 70 years, passed away on September 23, 2019.

Survived by four children, 16 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren, Dorothy graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in 1970 with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught in Peotone 207U School District, retiring in 1990.

Known for her talents in singing, playing piano, gardening, and crafting, Dorothy was a kind and caring individual cherished by her family and friends. A “Celebration of Dorothy’s Life” will be held later in the summer. Share memories at www.feddehelfrichcrossfh.com.
