Mary Ann Bernadette Pretto (nee Piejko), 81, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. Born on September 10, 1943, in Blue Island, Illinois, Mary Ann was the beloved daughter of John and Anna Piejko. She shared a loving 61-year marriage with her husband, Attilio Pretto, and was a devoted mother to Tom, Peggy, and Steve. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary Ann was a talented beautician and business owner, known for her ability to make others feel beautiful. Her strength and passion for life’s simple joys, like spending time with family and tending her garden, were paramount. Her love for white roses and the song “You Are My Sunshine” were dear to her heart.

Preceded in death by her parents, sister, and brothers, Mary Ann will be dearly missed but her memory cherished by all who knew her. A visitation will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Peotone on Saturday, May 10, 2025, with a Memorial Mass to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverside Healthcare Foundation for Cancer Care.
