Illinois tax revenues have shown an increase in April compared to the same month last year, according to a report from the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability (CGFA).

The report indicates that personal income, corporate income, and sales tax receipts for April all experienced growth when compared to April 2024.

For fiscal year 2025 through April, total state taxes have increased by nearly $2.4 billion or 5.5%. Meanwhile, total state revenue sources rose by over $2 billion or 4.5%.

Federal funding has decreased this fiscal year as anticipated. However, considering all sources, Illinois' general funds have increased by $650 million or 1.5% for the fiscal year through April.

In response to the higher tax receipts, CGFA has revised its fiscal year 2025 total revenue estimate upward by $317 million, bringing it close to $53.9 billion.
