Mercedes “Merc” Schwartz, 77, wife of Richard Schwartz and mother to Kristine Swallow, Caryn Travis, and Kate Jakocko, has passed away. She is survived by her grandchildren Kara, Rachel, Grace, Ava, Clara, Julia, and Matthew. Merc was the daughter of Emmett and Rosemary Murphy and sister to the late Barbara Egan.

A memorial visitation is planned for Thursday, May 8, 2025, starting at 8:30 a.m. with prayers at 10:30 a.m. at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home in Orland Park, IL, followed by Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church at 11:15 a.m. A livestream link will be provided prior to the Mass.
