Richard A. Anderson, 90, of Frankfort and Cubs Enthusiast, Remembered for Lifelong Devotion to Service

Richard A. Anderson, aged 90, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, in Frankfort, Illinois. He is survived by his daughters Laura Rot, Dawn Bruinius, and Carol Binnendyk, his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille, and his parents and siblings.

Richard had a fulfilling career as a lithographer before retirement, followed by work as a custodian at Moraine Valley Church and as an usher at Wrigley Field due to his unwavering loyalty to the Cubs. A United States Army veteran, he actively participated in veteran affairs and was a dedicated member of Hickory Creek Church in Frankfort. Richard was a longstanding member of the Tinley Park VFW Color Guard.

A memorial visitation will take place at Kurtz Memorial Chapel in Frankfort on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 4:00 PM until the time of the memorial service at 7:00 PM. Inurnment will be private. The family encourages attendees to wear Cubs attire in tribute to Richard's love for the team. Donations in his honor can be made to the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno.
