Phil Anderson | Baskerville Funeral Home - Wilmington

Phil Anderson, 73, of Wilmington, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Silver Cross Medical Center in New Lenox, Illinois. Born on January 25, 1952, in Cicero, Illinois, Anderson spent over 40 years as a carpet installer, most recently working for Apostrophe' Design. He also served as a village trustee for the Village of Symerton.

Anderson was known for his passion for bowling, woodworking, and music. He had a profound knowledge of songs and artists, along with a talent for limericks. Despite his quiet demeanor, his quick wit and sense of humor endeared him to those around him. Anderson's greatest happiness came from his family, particularly his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Jill, four children, 12 grandchildren, a brother, three sisters-in-law, two nieces, two nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, his parents-in-law, and a sister-in-law.

Visitation will take place at Baskerville Funeral Home in Wilmington on Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until the 3:00 p.m. service. Green flameless cremation rites will be conducted following the services. Memorial contributions can be made to the family in lieu of flowers. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Reeves, Fruland & Baskerville Funeral Homes and Crematory.
