Jeanne Ives, a former state legislator and founder of Breakthrough Ideas, said that Democrats in Illinois and the suspect in the Colorado firebombing attack share a common stance in their support for a free Palestine.
"So suburban Democrats in Illinois, do you still believe in unmitigated illegal immigration that invites terrorists in," said Jeanne M Ives. "Your chant is the same as this terror attacker."
The attack occurred on June 1 at a rally in Boulder, Colorado, organized by the pro-Israel group Run for Their Lives. The event aimed to urge Hamas to release Israeli hostages. Fox News identified the suspect as Mohamed Sabry Soliman, a 45-year-old Egyptian national. Soliman allegedly shouted "Free Palestine" while using a weapon to set people on fire. He was reportedly in the U.S. on an expired nonimmigrant visa, having arrived on August 27, 2022, with authorization to stay until February 2, 2023. He later filed a claim with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and obtained work authorization in March 2023.

According to a report from the Epoch Times, which Ives linked in her post on X (formerly Twitter), Soliman was booked into Boulder County Jail on a $10 million bond and faces charges including felony use of incendiary devices. A spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said at a press conference that preliminary findings indicate Soliman carried out a "targeted act of violence," and the agency is investigating it as an act of terrorism.
The FBI reported eight victims in the attack—four men and four women between the ages of 52 and 88. Their names were not released. Boulder police arrested Soliman at 1:32 p.m., took him to a hospital for medical evaluation before booking him into Boulder County Jail, and contacted the FBI for assistance within minutes. "Boulder is not immune to tragedy, sadly, and I know a lot of people are scared right now and questioning how this happened and why," said Boulder Police Chief Stephen Redfearn in an FBI news release. "Boulder has recovered from acts of violence before, and we will again recover. I urge this community to come together. Now is not the time to be divisive."
