Robert M. Preimesberger, known affectionately as "Bob," passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet at the age of 82. A resident of Plainfield and former resident of Burbank, Bob was a proud US Navy Veteran who served during the Vietnam era on the Navy destroyer USS Waller from 1962 to 1966. Following his military service, he dedicated 32 years to AT&T, retiring in 2001.

In retirement, Bob cherished spending quality time with his family, who all proudly graduated from Reavis High School, where Bob was part of the Class of 1961. Alongside his wife Susan, they were known as "Super Fans" supporting the school's teams. Bob enjoyed fishing and annual family vacations to Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Survived by his wife Susan, children Mickey, Carrie, and Erich, sister Cora, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Bob's legacy of love and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings.

Friends and family are invited to honor Bob's memory at Anderson Memorial Home in Plainfield, IL, on June 1, 2025, with visitation from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. A celebration of his life will commence at 6 p.m. Donations in his memory to the Shriners Hospitals for Children are appreciated. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services at the funeral home.
