Richard W. Dew, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2025. A lifelong resident of Plainfield, Richard found his greatest joy in spending time with his daughter, Amanda, and his grandsons, Asher and Cruz. He had a deep passion for fishing and often sought solace in the tranquility of nature while casting lines. Richard dedicated over 30 years to the IUOE Local 150, where he was known as a talented mechanic who took pride in his craft and enjoyed working on cars.

Richard is survived by his daughter Amanda (Cory) Catalani, grandsons Asher and Cruz, parents Bill and Susan Dew, siblings David Dew, Ron Ruthenbeck, and Nathan Dew, nieces Megan (Casey) Papp and Alexa Ahern, Amanda's mother Danielle Joritz, and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harold and Naomi Goist, and paternal grandparents Abe and Bertha Dew.

A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 3-7 p.m. at Anderson Memorial Home in Plainfield, IL, with a memorial service to begin at 6 p.m. Richard's passion for his work and love for his family will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
