Oak Lawn, Illinois - Steven "Steve" Edward Holden, aged 61, passed away on June 7, 2025, in Oak Lawn after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. Surrounded by his loving family, Steve was embraced by the support and memories of friends and family who visited during his time in hospice.

Survived by his wife Joy, Steve leaves behind his children Benjamin, Melanie (Andy), Stephen, and Colleen. He is remembered as the cherished sibling of Mike, Keith (Tammy), Randy (Nancy), and Melissa (Gary), as well as a caring uncle and great uncle to several nieces and nephews. Steve was born on December 14, 1963, to Ronald and Gertrude Holden in Oak Lawn, Illinois, and spent most of his life in the Chicago suburbs.

With a passion for stained wood furniture, Steve transitioned from employee to business owner at Second Time Around Furniture in 1993. He was praised for his ability to restore and refinish furniture, transforming it into beautiful pieces that adorned homes throughout the south Chicago suburbs.

A man of deep faith, Steve dedicated decades of service to Ridgeland Church (formerly Oak Lawn First Church of the Nazarene), serving in various capacities and playing a vital role in church operations. His commitment to sound and technology coordination showcased his dedication to enhancing worship. He met his wife Joy through their shared service at the church, and they built a strong and loving partnership over 30 years.

Steve's passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, church community, and all who knew him. They find solace in the belief that he now resides in heaven, reunited with loved ones and embraced by eternal peace.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Lack and Sons Funeral Home, with a service to follow on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Ridgeland Church. Interment will take place at Fairmount Willow Hills Memorial Park. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Steve's life at these gatherings.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy or planting a tree in memory of Steven "Steve" can be arranged through the floral store.
