The Illinois Tollway Board of Directors has approved contracts worth nearly $38.3 million for construction and professional engineering services at its June meeting. These contracts are part of ongoing projects across the Tollway system, including work on the Central Tri-State Tollway (I-294) and the new I-490 Tollway.
"Construction projects are underway throughout the Tollway system, including on the Central Tri-State Tollway (I-294) and the new I-490 Tollway, as we work to deliver new and improved roadway and bridges," said Illinois Tollway Executive Director Cassaundra Rouse. "The contracts approved today are equally important as they will enable us to keep other parts of our system in good repair."
For 2025, more than $217.8 million in contracts have been approved by the board. This includes $153.4 million as part of the 14th year of the Move Illinois capital program and $64.4 million for Bridging the Future plan's first year.
The recent construction contract awards include a $20.5 million contract to ICC Group Inc., Elburn, IL, for bridge rehabilitation on the Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-355) Mile Long Bridge, and a $4.1 million contract to Foundation Mechanics, Chicago, IL, for drainage improvements on the Tri-State Tollway (I-94/I-294).

The contracts involve 20 certified disadvantaged, minority-, and women-owned business enterprises (D/M/WBE), along with four veteran-owned firms. Participation commitments range from 18.09% to 95% for D/M/WBE firms and from 2.14% to 5.83% for veteran-owned firms.
Since 2012, over $11.8 billion has been invested in capital improvements by the Tollway with more than $3.1 billion committed to small, diverse and veteran-owned firms.
Illinois Tollway professional engineering services contracts follow a qualifications-based selection process according to state law (Illinois Public Act 87-673). Construction contracts are competitively bid under Illinois Procurement Code rules.
