Michael F. Barry Remembered as a Devoted Family Man and Respected Firefighter

Chicago Ridge, IL - Michael F. Barry, retired Deputy District Chief of the Chicago Fire Department, passed away surrounded by family. He was the devoted husband of the late Loretta (Butler) Barry and a loving father to Karen (late Phil) Wood, Michael (Ret. F.A.O.) (Anne), John (Marie), Maureen (Gregg) Jandacek, Daniel (Betty), James (Lynn), and Kevin (Mary). He was the beloved brother-in-law of the late Dolores (late Vince) Streff, and Noelle (late Bud) Reed. Michael was a proud and loving grandfather to 34, and a great-grandfather of 29.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Curley Funeral Home, located at 6116 W. 111th Street, Chicago Ridge. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Church, 81st St. & California Ave., Chicago, with Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
