John F. Pawl | Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.c. - Lemont
Born on October 11, 1948, John shared a love for cars with his father, John Pawl Sr., discussing vehicles and mechanics. He pursued his education at Joliet Catholic High School and Lewis University, earning a degree in Aviation Maintenance.
Beyond his professional pursuits, John was passionate about several hobbies, including car restoration, winemaking learned from his father, fishing, and collecting coins and stamps. He took pride in restoring vehicles like his 1936 Chevy 1/2-ton Pickup, 1978 Chevy Stepside Pickup, and self-restored 1967 and 1972 SS Novas. Notably, he engaged in street racing with his cousin Gene Korienek, both driving their '67 SS Novas in Joliet.
Having dedicated 35 years as a Package Truck Mechanic at UPS, John leaves behind his legacy of hard work and dedication. He is survived by his wife Bonnie J. Pawl, son Jonathon (Lynn) Pawl, daughter Kim (Mike) Mooney, grandchildren Rozilyn Krause, Aidan, Logan, and Abigail Pawl, and sister Judith (Richard) Danalewich.
