After marrying Donald Ray Taylor on December 23, 1946, Lida and Don created a home filled with love and warmth, calling various states their residence. Her career varied from working at Mike’s Ice Cream Parlor in Olney to contributing at Manteno State Hospital and Kankakee River State Park. Lida’s dedication extended to volunteering at churches, schools, and numerous community organizations, embodying her spirit of service and kindness.
Remembered as a hardworking, kind, and loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lida’s legacy of faith and hope has touched many hearts. Her steadfast commitment to the Church of Christ resonated in her joyful and hopeful demeanor. Despite battling dementia, Lida remained faithful and prayerful, guided by her unwavering devotion to the Lord until the very end.
Predeceased by her husband Don, son Randy, and sisters Alice, Mary, Rose, and Jeanette, Lida leaves behind a profound impact on those who knew her. A visitation and memorial service will be held at Urban Prairie Church in Manteno, IL, on July 20th, 2025, followed by a family graveside service in Olney, IL, on July 21st, 2025.
