Thomas J. Lyons, aged 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 7, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of the late Elizabeth Lyons, sharing 64 years of marriage. Thomas was a devoted father to Michael T. (Mary), Kimberly A. (Paul) Boruff, and retired Chicago Fire Dept. (Joan) Christopher L. He was the dearest grandfather of John, Matt, Steven, Julie, Annmarie, Kelly, Thomas, and Michael, and the great-grandfather of Mary Elizabeth, Anna Joy, Graham, and Noah. A U.S. Navy veteran and former Deputy Superintendent of Investigative Services at the Chicago Police Dept., Thomas was passionate about world travel and woodworking.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C., located at 108 Illinois St., Lemont, IL 60439. Closing prayers will commence at 11:30 a.m., followed by a procession to Franciscan Village at 1270 Village Dr., Lemont, IL for a funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. The burial will immediately follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1400 S. Wolf Road, Hillside, IL. There will not be a procession to the cemetery; friends and family are asked to gather there for a Chapel service.
