Gary Albert Preusse, aged 84, of Oakbrook Terrace, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025. Known for his deep love for his family, Gary found joy in brightening everyone's day with his kindness and positive spirit.

Gary will be deeply missed by his daughter Debra Martin, his grandchildren Joe, Mat (Sierra and Nova), Nick (Kelsey), Jen (Kyle), and his son Dave (Cathy), along with grandchildren David and Jeff. Throughout his life, Gary had a way of seeing the good in everyone he met.

Following the loss of his beloved wife Marianne, Gary devoted himself to their shared dreams and raising their two children. Retiring at 49 years young after a fulfilling career at Western Electric and AT&T, Gary continued to run the family business, G and M Models, pursuing his passion for R/C Model boats. He found joy in building friendships with fellow model boaters, always eager to share his expertise and help others improve their craft.

Gary treasured being called grandpa, lovingly attending his grandchildren's sports games and spoiling them with special gifts on holidays. Known for his thoughtful gestures, including sending packages and letters filled with love and care to his family and friends, Gary's presence brought warmth and joy to those around him.

A lover of the outdoors, long walks, and peaceful moments at Herrick Lake and the cemetery, Gary will be remembered for his kind and caring nature. Always interested in others' well-being, Gary's genuine concern for everyone he encountered left a lasting impact.

A Funeral Service will be held on July 21 at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL, where Gary will be laid to rest. In memory of Gary A. Preusse, the family kindly requests donations to a charity of your choice.

Gary's legacy of love, joy, and kindness will forever live on, leaving a lasting imprint on the hearts of those who knew him.
