Phyllis Myrl Klaiber, born in Detroit, Michigan, was a dedicated registered nurse and hospital administrator known for her commitment to community service. She graduated from Deaconess College of Nursing and Elmhurst College before becoming a registered nurse in Missouri and Michigan. In her mid-life, Phyllis returned to full-time work, eventually retiring from her role in hospital administration at Riverside Osteopathic Hospital in 1997.

Active in numerous churches and community organizations throughout Michigan, Missouri, and Illinois, Phyllis was a devoted member of SWIFT and Faith United Methodist Church of Orland Park. Her love for singing, reading, and sewing reflected her passion for life. Family was central to her, and she adored spending time with her children and grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Phyllis is survived by her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and caregiver Tuya.

A celebration of Phyllis' life will be held in the future. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Eden Theological Seminary. The memory of Phyllis Myrl Klaiber will live on through her impactful contributions to nursing, community service, and family.
