Eugene "Gene" Kosch, a beloved father, veteran, and community member, passed away on July 19, 2025, at the Veteran’s Home in Manteno, Illinois. Born on October 20, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, Gene's life was characterized by dedication, service, and his deep love for his family and country.

Gene, a devoted family man, is remembered fondly by his surviving nieces and nephews. Following his education, he served in the U.S. Navy and later with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, displaying remarkable courage and commitment during his service, particularly in the Vietnam War. Known for his exceptional work ethic, Gene also contributed his skills as a Civil Servant for the U.S. Marines, leaving a lasting impact in his roles.

In his personal life, Gene was a loving husband to his late wives, Dolores and Colleen, and a devoted father to his late son, Eugene Jr. His family meant everything to him, and his compassionate nature and unwavering support were evident in his actions. Gene had a special bond with his cherished dog, Dolly, highlighting his kind-heartedness and love for animals.

Gene's life was one of honor and service, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and community spirit. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him, and the stories shared will keep his spirit alive. As Gene sails on to his final journey, his life will continue to inspire and guide those he touched.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium in Justice, Illinois. Eugene "Gene" Kosch will be remembered as a beacon of hope and strength, resting in peace with the knowledge of the profound impact he made on those around him.
