Raelene Ann Wharton, formerly Warren, age 96, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at her residence in the Grand Haven Community of Romeoville. Originally from Deerfield, Raelene was an active member of her community, known for her passion for golf and gardening. In her younger years, she enjoyed golfing, often playing an impressive 36 holes in a single day, and spending quality time in her garden nurturing her plants and flowers.

She is survived by her loving children Rae Hibner, Doug Lyons, Nancy Horn, Linda Lyons, and Suzanne (Rob) Tauler; brother Quentin (Shirley) Warren; grandchildren Kevin Hibner, Thomas Hibner, Christina Lyons, Kristen (Caleb) Stine, Nicole (Jason) Rautbort, Alexis (Craig) Long, Sean Tauler, Gillian Tauler, and Ethan Tauler; great-grandchildren Elijah, Kayshawn, Kaden, Kiara, Ka’miyah, Summer, Skylee, Scarlette, Dorianne, Abigail, Byerlee, and Camden, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents Gilbert and Amy Warren, her first husband Richard D. Lyons, late husband M. Ben Wharton, and great-grandson Nathan.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with a celebration of her life to begin at 6:00 pm at Anderson Memorial Home in Plainfield, IL. Family and friends are invited to meet at North Shore Garden of Memories in North Chicago on Tuesday at 11:00 am for interment and committal prayers, without procession.
