The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) will provide health information, services, and giveaways at its tent during the Du Quoin State Fair from August 22 to September 1, 2025.
IDPH Director Dr. Sameer Vohra said, “The Du Quoin State Fair is always a wonderful experience for Illinoisans. As you enjoy the food and fun, please stop by the IDPH tent to find helpful items and learn valuable information to keep you and your loved ones safe and healthy. We look forward to seeing you at the Fair!”
The IDPH tent will be located on Grandstand Avenue across from the Grandstand. Staff will be present daily from noon to 6 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
Each day of the fair will feature a different focus area:
- August 22: Vital Records
- August 23: Office of Racial and Cultural Health Equity (ORCHE)
- August 24: Office of Health Promotion/Violence and Injury Prevention Section (VIPS)
- August 25: Children’s Health Agenda
- August 26: Men’s Health
- August 27: Office of Women’s Health and Family Services (OWHFS)
- August 28: Oral Health
- August 29: Office of Disease Control (ODC)
- August 30 & 31: Emerging Health Issues
- September 1: Lead program
Visitors can get information about obtaining vital records such as birth and death certificates. Educational materials on various public health topics will also be available.
Giveaways offered at the tent while supplies last include naloxone kits, COVID-19 test kits, gun locks with safe storage details, first aid cases, pillboxes, hand sanitizer, bag clips, cooling packs, sunscreen with clips, among other items.
