John E. Tobolski, Jr. | Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.c. - Lemont

Chicago - John E. Tobolski Jr., of Chicago, peacefully passed away on August 21, 2025. Born on November 1, 1950, in Garfield Ridge, he was the oldest of seven siblings. John was a graduate of De La Salle High School and pursued studies in psychology and mathematics at Northern Illinois University, and later attended Roosevelt University. He had a passion for music, movies, and food, and was an avid sports enthusiast, particularly rooting for the Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks, and NIU football team.

John is preceded in death by his parents, John E. Tobolski Sr. and Gloria (nee Grzymalski) Tobolski. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa, and siblings Gloria Sendelbaugh, Francis "Tommy" Dymek, Stephen Tobolski, Paul (Cheri) Tobolski, Andrea (Tom) Kemp, and Elizabeth (the late Peter) Dudak. He is also remembered by his uncle, aunt, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and great nieces and nephews.

His daughter expresses gratitude to Apex Health Services for their care and support, and extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Lemont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Honoring John's wishes, his body will be donated to the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in John's memory.

A memorial luncheon will be planned for a later date to honor John's life.
