Crest Hill, IL - Sharon Carter, age 84, formerly of Crest Hill and Custer Park, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Serenity Estates in Morris, IL. Born on June 17, 1941, in Joliet, she was the beloved daughter of Orvil and Irene Trueblood. Sharon shared 63 precious years of marriage with her late husband, Willie Raymond Carter, until his passing in 2019. Their enduring love remains a cherished example for all who knew them.

Sharon dedicated 25 years of her career as a counselor at Stateville Corrections Facility, where she served faithfully before retiring. She found joy in travel, bird watching, and treasured time spent with her family. Their home on the Kankakee River held many fond memories for Sharon and her loved ones.

Survived by her children Nancy, Karen, Kris, daughter-in-law Karen, grandchildren Eric, Stacey, Jennifer, Kari, Kaley, and great-grandchildren, Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and son Mark.

Visitation will be held at R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jan Chandler officiating. Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington, IL.

Sharon Carter will be remembered for her dedication to family and work and the love she shared with those around her.
