Joseph Polenc was a former member of the USAF, working at the United States Air Force Surveillance Radar station in Hanna City, IL where he met and married his wife, Barbara. After his service, he worked as a banker at the First National Bank of Chicago for over 30 years while also engaging in construction projects. Joseph enjoyed various hobbies, from sports like softball and golf to interests in model trains, carpentry, and numismatics. He took great pleasure in his summer home in Hayward, Wisconsin, where he fished.

Following the passing of his beloved wife, Joseph found comfort in games like Pinochle and Texas Hold'em with friends at the clubhouse. He is survived by his children Michelle, Joseph, and Anthony, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and sister Barbara. Preceded in death by his wife Barbara, parents Joseph and Regina, and grandson Joseph R. Polenc Sr.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 3-8pm at Anderson Memorial Home in Plainfield, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded, with private inurnment at Abraham Lincoln in Elwood, IL.
